The secret behind our skin changing body products is actually not a secret.
It is well documented in the scientific literature that a number of active ingredients can optimize, re-balance and improve the skins quality.
Only the best researched, approved and well documented ingredients find their way into our products, and they are all tested on real bodies and real skin.
Below we will take you through some of our skin heroes and why they made the cut.
This is a component that already exists in your skin. It saturates the skin with moisture since it can hold moisture up to 1000 times its own molecular weight. So it binds moisture to the skin. Hyaluronic Acid also prepares the skin for other ingredients that works best when the skin is moist e.g. Vitamin A.
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) calms and balances the skin, it is soothing and restoring, reduces redness, can help to protect against developing dark spots and also even out the skintone, visibly improves fine lines and acts against dullness. All in all, this is a very skin beneficial ingredient.
VITAMIN A (RETINOL):
This is a strengthening, normalizing and skin balancing ingredient. It stimulates the collagen production and so it creates more “filler” in the skin, and that will make lines and wrinkles appear less visible. Vitamin A can sometimes make your skin blemish a bit but the Niacinamide will balance this out. Vitamin A will contribute to make your skin look more firm and smooth.
AHA is an exfoliant that will dissolve the substances that contains the dead skin cells and therefore make your skin look healthier and more glowy. It polishes, refines and softens up rough and dull skin, and speeds up the cell renewal. AHA helps reduce dark spots and even out the skin tone as well. It also has the benefit that it helps the Vitamin A to be transported into the lower skin layers.
ANTIOXIDANTS AND VITAMIN E:
In our products we have added a “powerhouse-mix” of different antioxidants including Vitamin E, to help defend the skin against environmental stress, pollution and UV rays. It will help your skin to prevent the damage made every day from free radicals and air particles. Antioxidants work best in a combination with other ingredients such as e.g. Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin and Niacinamide.
Squalane is a natural lipid that softens and moisturizes the skin and is actually already in the skin naturally. It also has the ability to help transport other ingredients deeper in to the skin layers. The Squalane we use comes from European olives. Squalane is the stabil form of squalene so it does not oxidize as easy.
This is one of the best hydrators for the skin. It is similar to the natural moisture found in skin and it is helping to establish a normal balance and defend the skin against dryness, and also keeping the skins barrier in good shape, witch means keeping out the bad and holding on to the good.
